We regret that we have had to cancel the spring meeting on HQS Wellington as there was not enough interest. If you have already paid, we will contact you directly to arrange a refund.
After a two-year hiatus the 2022 Spring Meeting of the South Georgia Association will be held on board HQS Wellington, on London’s Victoria Embankment, on Friday 6 May 2022 at 4.30 PM.
We will also be celebrating the 21st birthday of the South Georgia Association.
This is a new venue, after many years at the Royal Overseas League. See the HQS Wellington Website for more information about the venue.
You may report on board from 4.30pm when the ship will be open to view, drinks (wine, beer, soft drinks) will be served at 5pm and a barbecue served on the quarterdeck at 6pm. There will be a cash bar.
Tickets £68.50 per person
Looking forward to seeing you there in person.
HMS Wellington (U65) was a Grimsby-class sloop launched in 1934. After World War II she was converted to “Head Quarters Ship” HQS Wellington at Chatham Dockyard. Since December 1946 she has been moored at Temple Stairs, Victoria Embankment, close to Temple Underground Station. Here she serves as the floating Livery Hall of the Honourable Company of Master Mariners. She is a superb venue affording wonderful views of the tidal Thames. She contains imaginative displays of the Company’s marine paintings and artefacts, gold and silver plate, ship models and newly discovered very early 18th century charts.
