SGA Online Talks – Whales Penguins and Mountains

The South Georgia Association is pleased to present three talks on Thursday 25 June 2020 using the Zoom online platform. Three speakers will each give a short talk of approximately twenty minutes as follows:

Dr Tom Hart (Oxford University)Counting the South Sandwich Islands: an interdisciplinary expeditionDr Tom Hart runs the Penguin Watch project out of Oxford University and conducts research throughout the Scotia Arc on penguin populations and their response to environmental change.
Crag JonesPresident Gorbachev: My Part In His DownfallCrag Jones has had a long and varied association with South Georgia from single-handed wrestling the Soviet Fishing Fleet into submission to climbing the islands highest peaks. He reveals all.

SGA Members will be contacted by email to gauge interest and to book a place as there is a limit on numbers who can attend. These will be allocated on a first-come-first-served basis.
